Vlokh of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine popup.description2 The laser generation by two types of drops dispersion for the same materials, namely: normal, in which dye doped cholesteric droplets is dispersed in isotropic liquid and inverted, in which drops of dye doped isotropic liquid is dispersed in a matrix of the same cholesteric. The possibility of lasing according to the mechanism of photonic bandgap of isotropic liquid droplets in the inverted dispersion was proposed and implemented for the first time. The possibility of observation simultaneously at least two laser lines corresponding to two edges of photonic bandgap was demonstrated. It was shown that the DG56 dye, recently synthesized for organic LEDs, can be used for lasing in cholesteric liquid crystal. An optical characterization of this dye in the liquid crystal matrix was carried out.
