It was found that the resulting graphite oxide with high oxidation degree is capable of exfoliation to graphene oxide in water without the ultrasound disintegration. It was shown that the resulting graphene oxide is electrochemically active in the potential range, wich is typical for the lithium batteries cathodes. A new method of modifying graphene by reacting of mechanically generated graphene active radicals with alcohols and chlorobenzene was proposed. It was found that the nanocomposites based on conjugated polymer MEH-PPV and modified graphene are characterized by photoluminescence quenching, this opens up the possibility of using such materials as the active layer in photovoltaic cells.
