The aim of the study is to determine the status and prospects of improving the political system of modern Ukraine taking into consideration the specifics of its creation and performance, the elaboration of theoretical models and practical outlines and recommendations for adapting Ukrainian political system to the requirements of present and urgent needs of the society and the presentation of the "Leaflet of methods and models of the modernization of the political system of Ukraine for political officials and authorities of Ukraine". Methods - modeling, forecasting, classification, systems method, structural-functional, institutional, comparative, synergistic methods. Scientific novelty: the phenomenon of the modernization of the political system was studied in terms of transformation of the society against the background of an intensification of contradictory trends in the modern globalized world society was clarified; conceptual understanding of the prospects and areas of the modernization of the Ukrainian political system was specified. Therefore technologies for the improvement of the political system's functioning were identified. The following results were obtained in the study: methodological bases for the study of the modernization of the Ukrainian political system were defined. The study of the implementation of the modernization of the political system in other countries and peculiarities of the political modernization in Ukraine was conducted. The problems of the modernization of the political system and possible solutions were examined. The results of the study can be used for the designing of study courses. The availability of the study is to examine the problems of the political system's improvement and to allow elaboration of applied methodologies for the enhancement of its functioning. An implementation of the project involves identifying prospects and areas of the modernization of the political system of Ukraine. Scope: Ukrainian system of government, political organizations and associations, universities of Ukraine, higher echelons of political governance of Ukraine.
