The goal - to develop highly efficient methods of heat treatment of white cast iron alloys and ledeburitic steels to provide increased complex of technological and operational properties. Are used: optical microscopy (microscopes Carl Zeiss "Axiovert 40 MAT", Nikon "Eclipse L150"), scanning electron microscopy (microscopes Carl Zeiss "Ultra-5", JEOL "JSM-6510"), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (analyzer "Oxford Instrumental"), the thermal method (analog-to-digital converter "Advantech"), optical dilatometry, X-ray diffractometry (diffractometer Rigaku" Ultima IV Pro "), the durometry (Rockwell, "Affri DM8"), the wear test, the workability test cutting. Theoretical results: new scientific evidence on the mechanism and kinetics of structure formation in high chrome cast iron and steel caused by decomposition of primery, destabilized and retained austenite and caused by the decomposition of martensite during the tempering and thermal cycling treatment are obtained; the effect of the above-mentioned phase-structural transformations on the mechanical and technological properties of the alloys are describes. Practical results: technological schemes and energy-saving modes of soften and hardening heat treatment of high-carbide eutectic alloys, which provide the increase of machinability and performance characteristics are designed.
