The object of the study are alloy steels, cast iron and surfacing material of different functionality and their products, which need to increase the mechanical and performance properties. The purpose of research is to improve the complex mechanical and performance properties of steels and cast irons of different functionality and industrial use through the creation and implementation of new developed methods and technologies strengthening heat treatment. In the present project, the use of such methods: metallographic, X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, dyurometrichny, comprehensive testing of mechanical and specific properties (impact toughness, wear resistance under various conditions of wear, etc.). Equipment used: a system of computer analysis of electron microscopic images SAІ -01 (SELMI, Ukraine), the computer system of thermal analysis with ADC board ("Advantech", Taiwan). Analysis of chemical composition performed on a vacuum quantameter "Spectrovac 1000" and "SpectroMAXx" spectroscopic method with a relative error of 0.001 to 0.1% depending on the item. Performed stratified analysis of the chemical composition and microstructure using quantometer, electron microscopes "Ultra-55" (firm "Carl Zeiss", Germany) "Jeol JSM 6510A" (firm "JEOL" (Japan). The microstructure was studied on microscopes "Neophot-21" (firm "Carl Zeiss", Germany) with the use of computer analysis of the optical image SAІ -01 (SELMI) and microscope "Nikon Eclipse L150" (Japan), with an increase from 50 to 2000-fold. Several of research of the microstructure, e-microstructure and phase composition was made in Japan (Muroran Institute of Technology, under a contract between SHEI "PGTU" and Institute) in October 2013. When performing research the idea of making the metastable phase-structural modifications in the surface layers of metal products and purposeful use the deformation phase transformations. Create new methods and technologies of heat treatment, surface hardening using thermochemical treatment, surfacing metastable metal with a controlled gradient alloy content, structure, and properties of the degree of metastability, the use of the plasma jet, pulsed-plasma ion processing, thermal cycling, etc. Efficiency of application: 1326620 USD. The results can be used in metallurgical, machine-building industry, agricultural machinery, repairs and renovations industries. Develop technical products (sale alloyed surfacing wire, wear-resistant cast iron, the new technology of surface hardening) is competitive, has investment appeal because it allows no additional cost savings are very scarce and expensive alloying components (Ni, Mo, Nb, V, W) included in the known analogues and substantially simultaneously improve mechanical and performance properties.
