The aim of the project is to create a conceptual model of regional features of formation of the Ukrainian national identity of late XX - early XXI centuries by means of modernization theories and historical comparative studies. As a result of research the conceptual model of regional features of formation of Ukrainian national identity of late XX - XXI centuries as a means of political nation established on the basis of international experience and ethno-cultural, mental, religious regional differences for the first time in Ukrainian historiography. Compared to concepts existing in domestic historiography presented model stands out by: the historical character of the analysis, involving of historical comparative studies as methodological tool, comprehensive character, takes into account the social and political processes of recent years, which have not found a proper interpretation of historiography. The results of research are implemented to the educational process in the departments of the modern history of Ukraine and the history of Ukraine in improving and updating of lecture course on subjects "Comparative studies of European societies", "History of Ukraine", "Comparative Studies", "Formation of Ukrainian nation: history and historiography", "Socio-political movement in Ukraine (XIX - beginning of the XXI centuries)". The course "Modern historiography of History of Ukraine" is developed. Obtained results of the project formed the basis of creating of the history of Ukraine textbook by F. Turchenko for 11 classes of secondary schools labeled (profile level). The results of research will be useful for employees of state and local authorities, particularly on issues of European integration, political and administrative reform.
