Under such circumstances , importance of the questions about banks' capitalization and its capital adequacy of the scope and nature of its transactions to cover banking risks are increasing. One of the possible ways of increasing the capitalization of the banking system and, as a result, increasing its resistance is the process of mergers and acquisitions. The studies and international practice demonstrate that the processes of mergers and acquisitions in Ukrainian reality can be an active part of increasing capitalization of the banking system. During the successful banks' consolidation as mergers and acquisitions we would get a synergistic effect when the value of а newly created bank exceeds the value of participating banks in association.
