Standardized Precipitation and Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) for the territory of Ukraine in general and for the north-western Black Sea region, particularly in the period of global warming are designed and analyzed. Links between river water content during an summer-autumn low water and aridity index are established. Field of use is meteorology, climatology, hydrology, environmental protection. Significance of the research and conclusions. The results of the research provide an opportunity to objectively describe the space-time distribution of drought in Ukraine in terms of global climate change and establish their relations with the characteristics of the hydrological regime of water objects.
