Research object is droughts in Ukraine. The research purpose is establishment of features of spatial and temporal distribution of different drought categories, estimation of stochastic models parameters of river flow and establishing links of aridity and hydrological and hydroecological state of some water objects Ukraine. Methods of research are methods of calculating the index of aridity, model "climate-runoff".Results and novelty. Standardized Precipitation and Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), its duration and severity of the territory of Ukraine are designed and analyzed. The connection between aridity and low flow periods is described and analyzed. The characteristics of changes in the water quality of river in dry periods are indicated. The impact of drought on hydroecological regime of water objects are shown. Field of use is meteorology, climatology, hydrology, hydroecology, protection of the environment. Significance of the research and conclusions. The results of the research make it possible to objectively characterize the spatial and temporal distribution of drought in Ukraine in the context of global climate change and to establish its relation with the different characteristics of the hydrological and hydroecological regime of water objects.
