The comparison of their efficiency, resolution and accuracy is performed. For the first time the mathematical modeling fоr bottom contour detection with the facilities is performed. The mathematical algorithm is suggested as a basis of the method, intended for the reconstruction of water area bottom contour in terms of hydrographic information and its numerical implementation is performed. The numerical model of bottom contour and the bathymetric map of the survey area of river Dnepr are plotted according to the echo sounder data. The bottom contour is reconstructed in terms of an actual data of the side scan sonar complex 500 (ГКБО-500). The bottom sediment classification in terms of grain size (bottom grain-size composition) and the snapshot of underwater bottom shape are presented. The methods of bottom contour quantitative assessment for navigation, mapping, geoacoustic researches and geosystems predictions are presented.
