Purpose of the research is to determine electric current characteristics providing for acceleration of solid-phase synthesis of intermetallics in a multi-layer foil system. Regularities of structural and phase transformations in a multi-layer package of Al - Ti system during thermobarelectric treatment are determined. Influence of current amplitude in each layer and geometrical sizes of a package on structural and phase state of sintered material is determined. Maximum allowable treatment parameters and conditions of sintering time shortening are found. It is shown that during current passing in a multi-layer package due to temperature gradient during Joule heating, additional diffusive flows arise, the direction of which coincide with the direction of heat diffusion. Measurements of mechanical characteristics of produced Ti-Al3Ti multi-layer specimens showed that their hardness and specific shock energy comply with indicators of shock-proof materials Product Description popup.authors Іванов А.В.
