Work purpose: prepare and print scientific-technical handbook, which are synthesized research results of the authors and known in the literature publications about fracture of a surface layers of a cyclically contacting bodies (tribojoint). Residual life of the trybojoints elements, in particular rolling pairs and fretting pairs, according to criteria of typical contact-fatigue damages. Research methods: singular integral equations method of contact problems for bodies with cracks, mechanical quadratures method, method of mass forces. The basic results: Modeling schemes and calculated algorithms of construct of trajectories of cracks that form the typical contact-fatigue damage have been presented. Examples of evaluating of contact durability of system elements by the criteria of pitting and delamination formation have been presented. The research results about influence of residual compressive circular stresses on the stress intensity factor (SIF) and on their range in rolling cycle, and also on formation of the characteristic angles of edge cracks propagation have been described. The research results of edge cracks propagation in contact area of rolling bodies by the mechanisms of transverse shear and normal opening have been presented, taking into account a crack faces contact. The influence of the contact conditions of fretting pairs elements on SIF and crack trajectory have been shown. The recommendations to improve of the strength and durability of elements of fretting pairs and rolling pairs have been proposed, based on the configuration of operating parameters. Application areas: calculations on strength and durability of machine joint and construction elements that work under fatigue contact conditions.
