The aim of the investigation was the study of ungulates' habitat forming activity as a basis for planning and conducting of nature ecosystems monitoring, e.g. finding out metamorphoses of saline soil under the influence of high density of ungulates on the territory of Azov-Syvash national nature park. The study also aimed at detection of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentration dynamics in the soil of reserved area of Khortytsa island under the influence of solid excreta of European roe deer and red deer. Scientific novelty of the research involves determining ungulates' habitat forming role in island ecosystems.
