Ukrainian Scientific Center of Ecology of the Sea is an international active center on monitoring and assessment of pollution and continuously carries out research and information relations with international centers and specialized regional centers for monitoring and evaluation of pollution in the Black Sea countries of the Black Sea region and the Secretariat of the Istanbul Commission for the exchange of information and coordination of actions for the implementation of the Strategic Plan of action for the Conservation and protection of the Black sea. Regional environmental monitoring of the Black Sea is carried out in the framework of comprehensive monitoring of the Black Sea and Assessment Programme which is implemented by BSC in 2000, and addressed to the main transboundary environmental problems in the Black Sea region.
