Efficiency of the first phase of conversion fellings on stationary objects was shown. The results of many years of research on experimental watersheds to study changes of water-regulating role of forests under influence of various systems of fellings and formation of young stands were summarized. "Recommendations on gradual and selective fellings in the mountain forests of the Carpathians" and "Recommendations on conversion fellings in main types of forest in the Ukrainian Carpathians" were developed.
