The purpose of work: High precision measurements of microwave transition frequencies of Mg atoms in preionization states, resolving direct and reverse problems of spectroscopy. An atomic-beam radio spectrometer for investigation of the absorption spectra of Mg atoms in S, P, D, F, G Rydberg states in the frequency range 79 - 234 GHz has been modernized. Frequencies of 68 resonances of these types were measured and identified for n = 25 - 40. Constants for quantum defect calculation of Mg atoms in S, P, D, F, G singlet states, constants for quantum defect calculation of Mg atoms in F triplet state. The new improved values of the ionization potential of Mg atoms have been obtained: VIPMg = 61671,051(23) sm-1. The experimental sample of the radiospectrometer and research results for Rydberg atoms Mg in S, P, D, F, G - states will be used in the further studies of Rydberg states of atoms Mg and other atoms.
