The current research is topical because the management of a nature reserve fund has become an integral part of the national ecological policy and a prerequisite for integration into the Pan-European Ecological Network provided by the Law of Ukraine "On national ecological network." Due to the fact that the Ukrainian Ecological Network should become a part of the Pan-European Ecological Network, Ukraine embarked on reforming the system of the nature reserve management, which have to employ unified approaches to the conservation and management of natural areas and objects. The object of the research is a protected natural area of Prydonetskyi natural core at the intersection of Galicia-Slobozhansky and Donetsk natural corridors of the Ukrainian Ecological Network and some of its framed cores, namely the objects of natural reserve fund. The subject of the research is improvement of the territorial model of the protected area and its individual components on the principles of landscape-ecological approach. The authors methodically solved the problem of optimization of the territorial structure of the protected areas by combining fundamental knowledge about landscape and an ecological organization of the territory with modern means of remote sensing and GIS. A typical model-algorithm of an allocation and territorial and functional organization of the protected areas, which are the core of the ecological network, were created.
