Based on the published data and the works, carried out by the authors previously, an optimal composition of the Al-Mg alloys doped by Sc and Zr and other transition and rare earth elements was determined. In order to eliminate the lacks of twist extrusion process, namely a significant heterogeneity of strain along the sample cross section and the impossibility of processing the samples with the most common in engineering circular cross section, a twist extrusion in off-axis dies was proposed. In the framework of project the design for the off-axis twist dies with circular cross section was developed and they have been manufactured for processing the aluminum alloys.
