Myronenko, Registration Date 31-03-2015 Organization The Mechnikov Research Institute of microbiology and immunology at Kharciv popup.description2 The object of study: the museum strains of the enterococci, clinical strains of the enterococci released from different ecotopes, strains released from the intestines of the healthy people; experimental animals. The purpose of the research is to improve the diagnosis and the treatment of the enterococcal infections based on the comprehensive study on the phenotypic and genetic level of the pathogenicity factors of the microorganisms from the Enterococcus genus and their antibiotic susceptibility. Research methods: biological, microbiological, genetic, histological, statistical. Was conducted the pathopheno and pathogenotiping of the clinical strains released from patients with purulent-inflammatory diseases and was determined their susceptibility to the antibiotics. Was established that E. faecalis clinical strains have gelE, asa1, esp and cylA genes; E. faecium has gelE, esp, cylA and hyl genes. Was established that gelE pathogenicity gene was detected most often in clinical strains both E. faecalis and E. faecium, regardless of the release ecotope. Was established that specific weight of the E. faecium clinical strains resistant to ampicillin was 90, 0%. Was set low activity of the aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones to both E. faecium and E. faecalis. Was confirmed the high anti-enterococcal activity of the linezolid and glycopeptide antibiotics (teicoplanin, vancomycin). Was shown the etiological role of E. faecium in the occurrence of the postoperative meningitis in patients with neuropathology. Was proved experimentally using healthy and immunocompromised animals (Han Wistar Rat) the role of the E. faecium in the development of the inflammatory processes. Was developed the algorithm for the laboratory diagnosis of the enterococcal infections. The results of the research work are presented in the form of articles in specialized publications, patent for utility model, one biomedical innovation and two technologies. ENTEROCOCCI, ENTEROCOCCAL INFECTIONS, PATHOGENICITY GENES, POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION, EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS, LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS.
