Development of mechanical part, electronic nodes and software. popup.stage_title Head Braun Oleg, Registration Date 06-04-2015 Organization Institute of physics NASU popup.description2 The aim the project is a comprehensive experimental, theoretical and computer study of the friction processes, and the development of scientific bases of the low energy management methods of tribological processes in machines and mechanisms to extend their operational resources. Experimental studies, performed in the Department of Physical Electronics of the Institute of Physics (IF) National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, are used developed by us (levitative) tribometer with parallel control of the friction surface, a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) and atomic force microscope (AFM) in order to investigate the impact of the oil molecular structure on the friction coefficient. Simultaneously, we conduct a theoretical and computer analysis of friction processes. Theoretical research is focused on accounting the substrate's deformations and describing transient phenomena, that occur at the beginning of friction processes. The purpose of these investigations is to find ways of managing of the lubricant molecular structure via friction induced conformational changes. When doing the first stage of the project were obtained the following results: 1. A new principle measuring of the friction coefficients were offered. Designed and manufactured a working model of the original instrument for studding of the friction processes via pendulum swing method. The device allows to do a non-destructive measurement of the ultrathin films friction coefficient (in the limiting case - a monolayer). The mechanical part of the levitative pendulum in the magnetic field was improved. 2. The electronic components of the levitative pendulum in the magnetic field was designed to perform tribological research. 3. Developed and tested software of the levitative tribometer. 4. It was theoretically investigated the spread of self-healed crack in the friction interface, and found the characteristic length of its run, which is controlled by the elasticity of the block and interface.
