Shevchenko, together with his literary and epistolary heritage, as well as Biblical texts, works of world literature (ancient era, the romantic era of the late XVIII - XIX centuries). Objective: to find out the place T. Shevchenko in world literature; to ascertain the condition of heritage study of Taras Shevchenko in European and world literature; to determine the criteria for comparison of T. Shevchenko's works and other prominent writers of the romantic period; perform the mapping of creativity T. Shevchenko and writers of the romantic English, German, French, Polish, Russian and other literatures. Research methods: comparative, historical and literary, hermeneutical, phenomenology, receptive aesthetics, cultural-historical, post-colonial criticism. In this research, it was investigated: the idea of God in the creative mind of Taras Shevchenko; the problem of freedom in the Holy Scripture and its interpretation in the works of Taras Shevchenko; the artistic individuality of T. Shevchenko's works in a new literary context. The results are implemented in the educational process of the Kiev national University of Taras Shevchenko: the optional course "The Phenomenon of Taras Shevchenko in the cultural and humanitarian space of Ukraine and the world", the course "Taras Shevchenko and Kyiv University", special course "Taras Shevchenko and the intellectual and art-literary context of the European literature."
