The object of research is the theoretical and practical approaches to the formation of ecologically-based management strategy of social and economic development of the territory. The subject of the research is the social and economic relations, which appear while designing and implementing of the modern concepts of the social and ecologically-based management strategy of the social and economic development of the territory. The methods of the research are based on the systematic approach, the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, the fundamental provisions of the general economic theory, environmental economics and environment protection, the modern concepts of the management of the scientific and technical development and regional management, modern management concepts. The social and economic background of the development and implementation of the ecologically-based management strategies of the social and economic development of the territory were investigated. The essence of the problems and prospects of the balanced (sustainable) ecologically-based management strategy of the social and economic development of Ukraine and its regions were studied. The theoretical and methodological bases and practical approaches to the integrated assessment of the level of social and ecological and economic balance of the administrative and territorial unit were developed and on this base the organizational and economic support for ecologically-based management strategies of the social and economic development of the territory were improved.
