Analysis of modern methods and means of nondestructive testing of mechanical stresses , it is inconclusive about the ineffectiveness of their use for the control of mechanical stresses hull. Methods such as strain , acoustic, coercimetric optical must have direct contact with the hull and act upon it a certain kind of physical field. Failing to ensure the stability of the gap between the transducer and the tested surface makes these methods low reliability when used in the operation . II . Thus, we propose a method based on the registration of the magnetic field of the hull , which is created by the earth's field . When implementing this method , carried out theoretical studies allowed us to establish the functional dependence of the magnitude of the residual magnetization of mechanical stresses in the metal. The analysis of the obtained dependence planning method experiment confirmed the adequacy of the results. III . To assess the range of variation of the magnetic field of the hull , we calculated values of residual magnetization of the magnetic shell taking into account the characteristics of the metal. The results allowed to define the basic requirements for magnetically sensitive element and its mode of operation . IV . Magnetically sensitive elements of the existing best suited flux gate operating at the second harmonic . However, it was required to change the design to achieve a higher sensitivity and the uniformity of length of the transform function at the core.
