The aim of the work is to develop diagnostic techniques of gemstones treated by various physic-chemical methods of treatment and defining the parameters of their properties changes depending on the different types of treatment methods (irradiation, heating, impregnation). Research techniques include infrared-Fourier (FTIR) spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy, ultraviolet radiation (DiamondView™), X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF). The relevance of the research work is defined by its practical importance for diagnostics of treated gemstones, determination of the fact and method of treatment for the protection of consumers' rights in jewelry industry. The results of the research are presented in the form of the report which includes new approaches of defining the diagnostic criteria and features of treatment and its effect on the qualitative characteristics of gemstones.
