I., Registration Date 23-02-2015 Organization V.Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials popup.description2 The structure formation of large products from composites based on superhard materials (powders of statically synthesized diamond and cubic boron nitride) and fibers of refractory compounds at pressures 4-8 GPa and temperatures 1100-2250 oC was studied. Physico-mechanical characteristics of composites having different compositions were defined. New designs of high pressure apparatuses for sintering large products from the composites as well as novel composite materials and technologies of producing large products to be used in tools of higher operational characteristics were developed. Pilot models of large products of composites were manufactured, the performance of tool cutting inserts under working conditions was tested and the technical and economic efficiency of the tool application was assessed.
