Data specific to each type of ability to remove metal ions from the nanocomposite, as well as the level and specific toxicity of the metal and its nanomaterials depending on the type of organism were first time received. The mechanism of fish MT participation in the molecular response to nanomaterials, depending on their nature was revealed for the first time. Manifestations specific to the effects of Co, Zn, Mo were clearly established and signs of free metal ions toxicity (based on the increase of hepato-somatic index) were proved. For the first time the ability to accumulate zinc and cobalt with nanomaterials by amphibians MT was described. As a result of the project, a new biochemical approach for biological indication and ecotoxicity evaluation of metal-containing nanomaterials in aquatic environments based on analyzing the functioning of aquatic animals' metallothioneins, metal depositing and stress proteins, was established and practical recommendations based on the use of aquatic animals' metallothioneins for early detection and differential cytotoxicity metal-containing nanomaterials were proposed.
