The object of the research - objects and phenomena of traditional folk culture in localities of Yemilchynskyi and Novohrad-Volynskyi districts, Zhytomyr region injured by the Chornobyl disaster. The goal of research - identification, fixation and scientific study of objects and phenomena of traditional folk culture of Ukrainian injured regions; collecting materials on micro toponymy and onomastics, formation of multidisciplinary research and information fund of ethnocultural heritage of the affected regions. This fund will be a source base for the further development of ethnology science and socio-cultural rehabilitation of the aggrieved Ukrainian Polissia inhabitants. The research methods - field collection of ethnographic, folk, art and linguistic information (researches which take place within the inhabitants' environment of the region with the aim of primary ethnographic, folk, art and linguistic data collection on separate structural components of traditional household culture and its functioning as a definitive system), in particular questioning (work with substantiated chosen informant or informants in the ethnic community), observation (thorough study and fixation of the whole complex of unique characteristics of the culture and household), interview (personal conversation of researcher with a respondent that may be formalized (with the help of preliminarily compiled questionnaire), half-formalized and the open conversation including preliminarily intended main conversational subjects only), audio-, photo-, video fixation, analytical description. In 2011, the integrated research on material and spiritual culture of the injured by the Chornobyl disaster villages of Zhytomyrska region (Yemilchynskyi and Novohrad-Volynskyi districts) was held. During the fieldworks 28 localities of Zhytomyrska region were explored, 972 respondents were interviewed, 380 hours of audio recordings on historic and ethnographic information were performed, over 8000 photos and over 48 hours of video recordings were captured, 11 measurements of architecture were performed that characterize the way of life of the Yemilchynskyi and Novohrad-Volynskyi districts inhabitants, as well as 20 analytical reviews on complex research directions had been prepared.
