The goal of the research is to analyze, systematize and therefore prepare a factual database based on collection of mass field data on various kinds of ceremonialism, which will be used for development of the Atlas of traditional folk rituals of Middle Polissia injured by the Chornobyl disaster. Ultimately, it will facilitate the coverage of issues of ethno-cultural history of Ukraine and its regions. The research methods primarily included field ethnographic researches based on an interview as a way of information obtainment with the help of thematic programs-questionnaires, audio recordings and photo fixations, as well as the methods of primary processing, comparative and structural-functional analysis of the collected material. The scientific novelty consists in the object definition, the aim, the research tasks and methods. For the first time, scientists developed the network of a system (almost entirely) survey of localities where in-migrants from the exclusion zone presently live. A considerable array of new factual data, which contained information on various kinds of traditional ceremonialism, peculiarities of its structural-thematic composition and functioning within the territory of Kyiv region in times preceding Chornobyl disaster, was collected and systematized. For the first time, an attempt of preparation of the source factual database for development of the Atlas of traditional folk rituals of Middle Polissia is being made. It will facilitate filling the gaps in native ethnology, in particular, the problems of preservation of cultural heritage of districts injured by the catastrophe. In 2013-2014, for the purpose of field data collection, researchers developed the network and methodology of ethnographic survey of the localities where in-migrants from the exclusion zone currently live. In addition, 5 thematic expeditions to in-migrants from the exclusion zone (that presently live in Makarivskyi, Borodianskyi, Baryshivskyi, Vyshgorodskyi, Ivankivskyi, Fastivskyi, Yahotyhnskyi, Zhurivskyi, Vasylkivskyi, Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi districts, Kyivska region and Prylutskyi district, Poltava region) were carried-out. During these expeditions, 50 settlements of in-migrants were explored, 256 respondents (from 69 injured villages) were interviewed, over 180 hours of audio recordings and 800 photos including necessary passporting were made.
