The purpose is to increase the effectiveness of anesthetic management and intensive care for children by assessing the effectiveness and safety of modern anesthetic and intensive care methods taking into account the age of the children. To develop criteria for the severity of child's condition in sepsis as well as the treatment efficacy is essential for emergency department patients. The study of critically ill mixed-age children with surgical and medical pathology in anesthesia and intensive care has found that blood procalcitonin concentration is the criterion for the clinical and laboratory evaluation of the severity patient's condition, the predictor of multiple organ failure, the criterion for rationalizing antibiotic treatment of mixed-age children with both medical and surgical pathology. The analysis of cognitive functions in children who were conducted inhalation and non-inhalation narcosis shows that the quality indices of memory and attention are lower than those of the baseline in both types of anesthesia; at the same time this difference is less important and the total degree of inhibition is lower in patients who underwent the inhalation anesthesia with Sevoflurane than that in those who were conducted the intravenous Propofol anesthesia.
