Objective: To assess the situation of children in demographic terms; analyze the health, education of children, opportunities for development and health improvement; assess the socio-economic situation of families with children; to analyze the main problems and needs of children who have suffered from armed conflict; analyze the public policy of social and legal support to families with children and children's rights; describe the actions of non-governmental organizations and volunteers ensuring the rights of children; suggest ways of improving public policy to improve the rights of children and families affected by the armed conflict. The report consists of 6 Sections. The first chapter provides general information about the children in the Ukraine - demographic indicators, health status, education, socio-economic status of families with children. This information indicates that the general trend of socio-demographic situation of children in Ukraine for 2014 unchanged: reduced number of children, their health is deteriorating, material and economic, increasing the number of children whose families are in difficult circumstances . The second chapter explains the basic principles of social and legal protection of children in armed conflict - international regulations and regulatory-legislative support Ukraine. The third section describes the problems and needs of children who have suffered from armed conflict, namely children living in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk areas where public authorities temporarily not exercise their powers; children living in liberated regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions and towns, located on the contact line; children are forced displaced from the occupied territories and zones ATO to other regions of the country; children who moved the borders of Ukraine; Children regions of Ukraine where there isn’t ATO. The fourth chapter of the report contains information about state policy of social protection of various categories of children in armed conflict at the central and local executive authorities and local governments. In the chapter described activities of government agencies to ensure children's rights to life and secure environment; security in the war zone; education; access to social services; health, recreation and leisure. In the fifth chapter examines the role of NGOs, charities and voluntary organizations in the protection of children in armed conflict. According to the results presented in the report data are formed recommendations to improve the social and legal protection of children who are in Section 6. In the annexes to the report are the sources of information used to prepare materials, and table statistics.
