The goal of research is to define approaches for adaptation of the GTAP tools for the analysis of changes of trade terms and for assessing the impact of such changes on the economy of Ukraine and to use the GTAP model for impact assessment of changes in the terms of trade between the EU and Ukraine in the case of introduction of the free trade area under the conditions of the draft of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The research methods: dialectic, system approach, retrospective and comparative analysis, synthesis, grouping, and modeling. The results will be used by the Department of European Integration of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine for presentation to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Presidential Administration of Ukraine in order to correct the plan of measures on increasing the benefits and minimizing the negative effects of a free trade area with the EU; for making changes in the program documents on Ukraine's economic development, and during events to raise public awareness on the draft of Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, including the creation of the FTA.
