The purpose of research is to prepare recommendations on further mutually beneficial development of trade and economic cooperation of Ukraine with the CU countries considering the introduction of a free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and the EU and the need to adapt the external economic relations of Ukraine with the CU to the new trade and economic conditions. The research methods: dialectic, system approach, retrospective and comparative analysis, synthesis, grouping. The results will be used by the Department of Trade and Economic Cooperation with the CIS countries and the Russian Federation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine for the preparation of management decisions on development of trade and economic cooperation with the countries of the CU within the competence of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and for the preparation of proposals on further mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation of Ukraine with the CU in the context of prospective Eurasian Economic Union formation.
