At the Laboratory of Tribology of Dynamical Systems of the Ecole Centrale (Lyon, France), a series of experiments to study the dynamics of the dry sliding interface between the elastomer (polydimethylsiloxane) with microscale roughness and glass substrate has been done. Analysis of the experimental data has been carried out, and it was developed a theoretical model that takes into account the aging of contacts in the interface, and computer simulations for this model have been done. It was found a general scenario of the onset of sliding in the friction interface and possible regimes of sliding.
