Kyrdyumov Institute for Metall Physics of N.A.S. of Ukraine popup.description2 The structure state of carbon nanomaterials (CNM) produced by electric discharge treatment of gaseous hydrocarbons with difference degrees of hybridization of carbon atoms in the molecules is studied. It is shown that the synthesized materials are characterized by mixed type of short-range order. Using reverse Monte Carlo method atomic configuration of disordered CNM were reconstructed from experimental diffraction data . By Voronoi analysis, the quasi-continuous characteristic spatial elements were established, what indicates a wide variety of coordination polyhedra in the structure of materials. It is shown that the materials have virtually no coordination polyhedra (clusters) of regular form. It is established that Voronoi polyhedra, built for amorphous carbon, contain a large number of 5-fold faces, which are typical for amorphous state.
