The aim is to define mechanisms and regularities of formation of three-dimensional vortex structures in the wall region of turbulent flow on nonuniform surfaces. Methods are physical and numerical experiment. Method are the physical and numerical experiments. A composition of regular inhomogeneities (local deepenings) on the surface has been proposed, which are able of generating quasi-steady longitudinal vortical structures of specified scales. A principal possibility of drag reduction on such surfaces at transitional and turbulent regime of flow has been shown.
