The objective of the research has been achieved due to the elucidation of the views of the linguists of the XIX – beginning of the XXI on the linguistic and linguistic genetic methods as well as to the analysis of the practical implementation of their views. The main tasks of the research have been performed thanks to the elucidation of the principally new points of the comparative-historical and historical methods research and of the narrowness of their definition; presentation of the statements that remained topical for the linguistics of the early XXI century. The scientific novelty of the findings consists in the analysis of the specific methodics of language history modelling. The realization of the linguistic historiographical analysis of the comparative historic method appliance in the comparative linguistics of the XIX – beginning of the XXI centuries as well as the development of methodological base in the works of the Ukrainian linguists the XIX – beginning of the XXI centuries in the framework of the project is fundamentally new for the Ukrainian linguistics. The project is an original and integral research of the topical issues of the linguistic methodology and genetic linguistics. It should be mentioned that it is the first attempt of the complex investigation of the total components of the linguistic and linguistic genetic methods. The present research itself is a certain criteria of the efficiency of the actual method appliance in the linguistic historiography based on the broad factual material.
