Purpose - to set the parameters that influence the effectiveness of water treatment from manganese on sorbent-catalyst . Methods - the residual concentration of metal cations in solution was determined by atomic absorption and spectrophotometric methods. The residual concentration of manganese compounds in solution was determined by the colorimetric method of analysis . Acid-base properties of the solutions studied by pH meter. Experimental results were treated by statistical methods of analysis. The structure and properties of the sorbent-catalyst was investigated. It is proved that the presence of calcium carbonate and potassium in its structure are allows to adjust the pH of the solution in the area of its alkaline values. It was established that with increasing salt concentration singly charged and doubly charged background ions (chlorides, sulphates, calcium and magnesium) the residual concentration of manganese compounds in purified water was increases. The theoretical model of manganese compounds removal process with sorption mechanism and catalytic oxidation was worked out. The theoretical model determines connection between water treatment efficiency and its initial data such as: pH value, oxygen concentration, salt content, charge of manganese ions, alkalinity. The theoretical model with fitted coefficients describes the influence of singly and doubly charged ions on manganese compounds removal on modified sorbent-catalyst.
