The project is a bio-ecological study of existing and development of new principles of restoration and creation of protective forests in the steppe zone as an effective factor increasing material and energy resources and increase soil fertility. In this paper, as part of the general problem addressed specific objectives for the conservation, protection, increase productivity and improve the natural and artificial forest communities. Improved methods of artificial forest ecosystems on lands and not technologically contaminated lands to conserve biodiversity steppe zone of Ukraine. Criteria of evaluation of interference components of forest ecosystems (edafotopu, phytocenoses mikrobotsenozu) and environmental factors; characterization and use of soil biodiversity; ways to improve the material and energy resources of soil cover steppe zone of Ukraine. The obtained results of research can be used to study structures in creating stable, durable protection, reclamation, recreational and residential artificial afforestation in terms steppe zone of Ukraine, conducting silvicultural work in projects for the justification of protection and conservation of natural areas, the creation of the National Ecological Network of Ukraine.
