The aim of investigation: definition of the fundamental mechanisms for powders consolidation, which are loaded by mechanical pressure in powerful electromagnetic field during flowing through them current pulse with high power. The methods of research: theoretical analysis of published data from the theory and practice of electropulse consolidation of powder materials and by finite element method, experimental studies using the hot pressing equipment with electric heating. Theoretical and practical results of the theory of existing mechanisms and recommendations for determining patterns of short-acting high magnetic field, electric current pulse of high power and mechanical pressure on the consolidation processes (compaction and sintering) of new powder materials including nanocrystalline structure. Novelty: classification of physical phenomena and mechanisms operating during the current pulse high power through the powder material, loaded by mechanical pressure, the theory of electropulse consolidation, which will take into account entire combination of these mechanisms and phenomena. Efficiency of implementation: obtained knowledge allow to formulate a new theory of electropulse consolidation of powder materials and create a method for determining the optimum process parameters that provide full consolidation of powders with their original nanocrystalline structure.
