The subgect of research are theoretical and applied aspects of implementation of conception of sustainable development in a region. The aim of research work is a theoretic explanation of prospects of sustainable development of a region. In the process of implementation of research work methods of scientific research of theoretical and empiric levels are used, namely: dialectical - at the estimation of dynamics and economic development of regional economy status; abstractly-logical and analysis of the systems for the sake of theoretical and methodical generalizations; analytical - with the aim of search of dependences between the phenomena and processes; comparison - for comparison of indexes in the cut of districts; a graphic method is for a show evidently of dynamics of the investigated processes. Main results of the research job which remove a novelty and expose her maintenance is such : natural-resource bases of sustainable development of region are investigational; certain strategic reference-points of social constituent of steady development; the role of innovations is reasonable in providing of steady development; the natural-resource constituent of sustainable development of the Ternopil area is investigational; main demographic progress and forming of health of population of region trends are investigational in the context of social-economic development; the complex estimation of the state and progress of labour-market of agro-industrial region trends is carried out, the mechanism of his adjusting is offered in the conditions of crisis economy; the newest tendencies of labour migrations of population, dynamics of standard of his living and terms of vital functions are investigational; certain backlogs of the labour productivity on the enterprises of the Ternopil area and directions of improvement of social-labour relations of employment in the Ternopil area; the mechanism of realization of regional policy of labour-market and social defence of population is offered; outlined priority directions of development of productive forces of the depressed region; the strategic reference-points of further socialdemographic development of Ternopil Region are certain; the set ways of optimization of structure of employment of population of the Ternopil area in the context of overcoming of consequences of economic crisis.
