Methods of research - filtration in the laboratory and field conditions, analytical chemistry, molecular statistics, mathematical processing of experimental data. Equipment - laboratory, research and pilot installations, personal computer. Theoretical and practical results - the method for the production of sorbent, based on natural zeolite (clinoptilolite) from the deposit in Transcarpathian Ukraine, and modified by chemosorptionally applied nanoclusters of manganese dioxide, is developed and verified in industrial conditions. The sorbent complies with the requirements set forth for filtering loads, and is capable for the removal of manganese with concentration up to 2 mg/dm3 during 400 hours (and above) without the regeneration, and for the post-cleaning of water from iron. The process is accompanied by the removal of hydrogen sulphide, improves the water quality, ensures its sanitary protection. The initial requirements are determined, and the practical recommendations are developed for the design of stations (installations) for the deironong and demanganation of water using modified zeolite (clinoptilolite). Novelty - in contrast to the existing technologies, the developed sorbent is produced in the actual working conditions of operating filters-reactors. Efficiency of implementation - according to preliminary estimates, the cost of the developed filtering material based on Ukrainian raw material is several times lower than that of the closest imported analogue Manganese Greensand.
