The tasks to be solved: - Analysis of the components of social support (social transfers and social services) for families with children in Ukraine and their impact on the lives of families with children; - Detection of criterial features of effectiveness of the system of social support for families with children in Ukraine; - Analysis of the effectiveness of system of social support for families with children in Ukraine - Development of recommendations to improve the system of social support for families with children in Ukraine. The main results of research. The study is based on the analysis of legal documents, state and departmental statistics, information and analytical materials on the existing system of social support (social transfers and social services) for families with children in Ukraine and their impact on the lives of families with children. The analysis has been conducted and methods for assessing the needs of families with children, as well as methods of building up the individual integrated strategies to address the needs of families with children have been improved. Within the project criteria (quantitative and qualitative) of effective functioning of social support for families with children in Ukraine have been identified and recommendations for the improvement of social support for families with children in Ukraine have been developed. In particular, the use of methodology of revenues indirect estimation and other measures to strengthen the targeted social assistance. The obtained scientific results presented in the annual report to the President "Social protection of children living in families who find themselves in difficult circumstances" (on the results of 2012).
