Gradually, its members included the entire array of Eastern tribes. The period of greatest political power of Rus' is considered the middle of the XI century, during the reign of Grand Prince Yaroslav Vladymyrovych (1019-1054). The complex ethno-political and socio-economic processes contributed to the deepening of the process of fragmentation of the Rus' state. As a result, the military and political weakening and loss of state sovereignty appeared in the middle of the XIII century. Thus, in the middle of the XII century, the process of consolidation of autonomous principalities statrted in the west of the Rus' state, which was a consequence of the formation of Galicia-Volyn principality (1199), which after the Mongol conquest of Eastern Europe has managed to maintain its statehood and became the next step in the history of Ukrainian lands. The geopolitical changes in the region - the union of the Kingdom of Poland by Casimir III, the strengthening of the expansion of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the Ukrainian lands during the reign of Olgerda and the weakening of the Golden Horde lead to the fight for the Galician-Volyn heritage, resulting in the transition of Ukrainian lands to the foreign countries in the middle of the XIV century. In late of the XIV century Ukrainian lands belonged to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Moldova. One of the main political factors, that affect the balance of the power in Central and Eastern Europe of the XIV - XVI centuries, were the trend towards the unification of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Polish Kingdom Krevsk union, which was established in 1385 Their result was the creation of the largest state of contemporary Europe - Commonwealth, which was executed by the act of the Union of Lublin 1569. Exactly this event is considered to be the beginning of the early modern period in the Ukrainian history, which lasted until the last Partition of Poland (1795). Undoubtedly, an important aspect of the historical past of Ukrainian lands in this period were the events that preceded the national revolution of the middle - the second half of the XVII, which ended with the formation of Ukrainian state - Cossack Hetmanate. The loss of Ukrainian statehood on the Right Bank of Ukraine and the recovery of the power of the Commonwealth government and Turkey brought the changes in the economic, political and cultural development of this region from the rest of Ukrainian lands.
