The systematic research of the structure of the economic potential of the region is conducted, as a result the mechanism of the transformation and the model of its implementation, which will provide overcoming of imbalances of the structure of the potential and its modernization according to modern requirements, are developed.The developed mechanism of the transformation of the economic potential allows not only to overcome existing imbalances of the structure of the potential, but to greatly improve indicators of all its parts, which will provide increasing of the total amount of the economic potential.
