For the first time, the CeAlO3 volumetric crystals have been obtained by the Czochralski method from W crucibles. The perovskite cerium with a luminescence in the range of about 350 nm, and a decay time of about 20 ns is a promising scintillator for production of detectors of the updated Large Hadron Collider at CERN, due to low cost, lack of uneven distribution of the activator, not high Zeff and thus, a small cross section of hadron-nucleus reactions.
