Such a co-activation was found to reduce optical losses in CdSe:Cr2+ samples and to obtain laser generation in the corresponding active elements. ZnSe"Cr2+ crystal with increased single-crystalline part was grown. Series of activated CdSe:Cr2+ and ZnSe:Cr2+ active elements were produced. and their generation characteristics were tested.
