Particular attention is paid to alternative acting and dance techniques, which absorb the aesthetic principles of Western and Eastern performing arts, tradition and avant-garde, theatre and dance (Yoshi Ouida, Pina Bausch, Min Tanaka). There is the analysis of the vocabulary of these techniques, such as "invisible actor" (Yoshi Oida) "body alphabet" (Zygmunt Molik), "emptiness" (Tadashi Endo), "meteorology of body" (Min Tanaka), - the author analyses the origins of these techniques. In particular, it has been proved the relevance of aesthetic principles of medieval Japanese Noh Theatre (Zeami Motokiyo) for contemporary choreography and acting education. The research is also focused on the current state of theatre education in Ukraine for technical workers. According to the results of the international theatre project "Behind Scenes" (2013), initiated by the British Council in Ukraine and addressed to theatrical producers and lighting designers, the author proves the necessity of innovations aimed to improve a modern theatre education and modern theatre in Ukraine, in general.
