The need for new approaches has been caused by the epistemological crisis of understanding art as something that teaches the viewer, meets his/her aesthetic or emotional demands by means of manipulation. The research raises the question of "decolonial turn" philosophy and artistic practices having mutual influence on each other, while conceptualizing the possibility of the theater (performative) practices impact on shift in epistemology. By giving examples of the experiments of artists from different areas of contemporary performative arts and her own (group TanzLaboratorium) laboratory research, the author proposes to reflect on the need of re-thinking relations between the artist and the viewer. The research connects the decolonization of consciousness with the question of emancipated viewer, as well as the release of aesthesis, with double-consciousness, problematic existence and peripheral view. The experimental part of the research is dedicated to the study of principles and methods of artistic practices that contribute to emancipation of the audience and decolonization of consciousness.
