The electrochemical processes at surface-modified electrodes, which have micro- and nano-structured surface and small overvoltage of hydrogen and oxygen evolution are studied. The modifiers which showed the highest activity in these electrocatalytic processes are determined. The use of modified electrodes in the electrolysis of alkaline solutions will significantly reduce electricity costs and improve the profitability of this method for hydrogen producing. The laboratory prototype of a hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell (FC) using synthesized catalytically active hybrid silica-carbon bimetallic electrocatalysts is manufactured. The technological characteristics and electrochemical parameters of FC are determined. The participation of water in the formation of the multicomponent double electric double layer at the electrode in the presence of the layered inorganic material suspensions - aluminosilicates was established. Conversion of dissolved oxygen into hydrogen peroxide in the presence of suspensions of modified alumosilicates reaches 20 %.
