The object of study is devices for using waste heat from various facilities and equipment for the implementation of technological processes. The objective of the work is to study the properties of heat recuperators in order to determine the advisability of their practical use in the so-called "green technologies". According to preliminary estimates, heat recovery by thermoelectric power converters can save up to 10% of fuel resources. To solve the tasks of the project, mathematical physics methods have been employed for thermal, electrical and thermoelectric fields to describe the processes of thermoelectric power conversion with the boundary conditions that correspond to low-grade heat recovery. Theory of thermoelectric heat recuperators has been built. General regularities, conditions of power conversion in recuperators, the regularities of heat flux and temperature distribution have been determined. General regularities of temperature and heat flux distribution for sectional recuperators and recuperators with radiation heat dissipation have been analytically described and determined. Computer programs for the description and design of thermoelectric recuperators have been created. The properties of thermoelectric recuperators have been determined with regard to the temperature dependences of materials, the thermal and electrical losses. The results of theory and design of thermoelectric heat recuperators have been experimentally confirmed. The most rational areas of application of thermoelectric heat recuperators have been determined. The results of project implementation are of considerable social and economic importance. Introduction of thermoelectric heat recuperators realizing direct waste heat into electric energy conversion will effect total saving of energy resources to 8%. The use of such devices allows reducing heat loss into environment, minimizing its contamination through decrease of concentration of harmful substances. Further project realization will contribute to creation of new workplaces at introduction of developments at the enterprises of Ukraine and more efficient use of scientific-technical and production potential of the country in instrument-making field.
